Yogi Savania qualified in Leeds in 1989 and worked in practice in Derby before coming to Swadlincote in 1996. Yogi passed the MFDGP postgraduate exam in 1994 at the Royal College of Surgeons (Eng.).
He also held part-time Clinical Assistant posts in Orthodontics and Restorative Dentistry at hospitals in Derby and Leicester. He has a special interest in cosmetic and restorative dentistry, headaches and jaw problems, amalgam replacement, and care of nervous patients.
Yogi is a full member of the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and was short listed in The Smile Awards 2010. Yogi was also short listed in 8 categories (the most of any nominees) and highly commended in the Aesthetic Dentistry Awards 2013.
He is a fully certified Inman Aligner, Invisalign and Six Month Smiles practitioner.
Yogi is a British Dental Association spokesperson and is on the editorial board of a national Dentists magazine and on the judging panel for their annual dental awards.
He has worked for several years in association with Sheffield Postgraduate department as a Vocational Trainer to postgraduate dentists.
He passed his postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Education (PG CertClin Ed) with Distinction at Sheffield University in 2012.
He is also a European consultant for 3m Espe, involved in developing new dental materials. He is a highly respected dentist in and around Burton and the East Midlands and has patients that travel to see him from all over the UK, Europe, and other parts of the world.
He enjoys spending any remaining spare time with his wife and young family. Yogi keeps fit and is a 3rd Dan black belt in the Korean martial art of Tae Kwon Do, recently umpiring at their World Championships
