Dr Mike Gray BDS MFDS RCSEd is an aesthetic, restorative and surgical dentist with a strong focus on minimally invasive dentistry and digital workflows.
Graduating from the University of Bristol in 2009, Mike received multiple undergraduate awards before completing four years of hospital-based residencies in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and Restorative Dentistry.
Mike currently works across two referral centres in South Wales, where his practice is centred around advanced cosmetic rehabilitation, soft tissue surgery and implant dentistry. He has developed a particular interest in combining digital technology with biologically respectful treatment concepts, carrying out extensive work in minimally prepared and prepless ceramic veneers, digital smile design, surgery and soft tissue enhancement at the perio-prosthetic interface.
A passionate advocate of the technician–clinician relationship, Mike spends time working closely with dental laboratories and undertakes much of his own lab work from digital planning and Exocad to fully layered ceramic. This collaborative and highly practical approach led to the development of the POISE Protocol — a predictable digital workflow for limited preparation ceramic veneers that focuses on enamel preservation, functional aesthetics and efficient clinical execution. Mike now lectures independently on the protocol through his sell-out hands-on courses.
Alongside clinical dentistry, Mike has a strong interest in innovation, photography and product development, having created several dental devices and digital workflow solutions. In 2022, he was awarded one of the UK’s most prestigious dentistry accolades for Restorative Full Mouth Rehabilitation.
Outside dentistry, Mike has had a professional career in sports and music — experiences that continue to influence his creative approach to dentistry, education and problem solving.
