I qualified from Leeds University in 1998. In 2001, I passed the examination for Membership of the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners at the Royal College of Surgeons. Following this achievement, I pursued a broad range of postgraduate courses and in 2003 completed the year long Restorative Certificate at St. Annes Dental Education Centre, allowing me to provide a very high standard of general dentistry for all of my patients.

Whilst enjoying all aspects of general dentistry, I developed a particular interest in Periodontics, the treatment of problems relating to gums and gum disease. In 2001, I accepted a part-time post at Liverpool Dental Hospital in the Periodontal Department, allowing me to maintain my general practice. I have recently been appointed as Teaching Lead in Periodontics. During this time, I successfully completed a Masters Degree in Clinical Periodontology and I am recognised by the General Dental Council as a Specialist in Periodontist.

My general practice career has seen me working in some of the North West’s most prestigious practices. I continue to work with Specialists form other disciplines of dentistry including Prosthodontics (crowns, bridges and dentures), Endodontics (root canal), Orthodontics (braces) and Dental Implants, allowing me to tackle the most complicated dental problems. I continue to provide all aspects of general dentistry including fillings, crowns, veneers and tooth whitening. I accept referrals for all aspects of periodontal problems from dentists from all over the North West and North Wales.

Outside of the university, I also lecture around the country on the very well known “PerioCourses” alongside Dr Phil Ower, one of the best known Periodontists in the country. I have recently been asked to join the teaching staff on the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners Diploma in Orthodontics and Restorative dentistry, teaching the Periodontal modules within their courses.

In recognition of my commitment to the discipline of Periodontology, I was asked to be a regional representative for the British Society of Periodontology for Merseyside and Cheshire and I also serve on their Education Committee.

I keep up with all aspects of Dental Implants and I am member of the British Society of Periodontology and the ITI.

I am originally from Liverpool and have recently moved back to the area, with my wife, Paula and daughters, Charlotte and Jasmine. In my spare time I sleep!
