James qualified in 1992 from King’s College London. He has worked exclusively in the City since 1995. He took two years off to gain a masters degree in Conservative dentistry at the world-renowned Eastman Dental Institute.
He is owner and lead clinician at Bow Lane Dental Group, a multi-speciality dental practice in the city of London with an onsite dental laboratory.
James is a past-president of the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
James is a member of Association of Dental Implantology, British Society Of Occlusal Studies, the British Dental Association and is a Dental Phobia certified dentist.
He lectures internationally and has delivered over 75 seminars on tooth whitening techniques, minimal invasive dentistry and marketing your practice.
James writes for many publications and has appeared on many television and radio interviews. He has twice been listed in Private Dentistry’s poll of the top 20 Elite Dentists in the UK in 2011 and 2012. He has been voted the most influential person in Dentistry in the UK in 2011 & 2012 by trade magazine “Dentistry“.
He is a trustee of Heart Your Smile, a registered charity set up to increase the attendance at the Dentist.

His book Brush is a number one best seller on Amazon and ALL the profits go to charity Dentaid. The first project was is in Malawi where James installed a two surgery dental practice and lead a dental team to deliver a skills transfer workshop.
