Treatment overview
There are many aesthetic orthodontic treatments available through BACD Accredited and Full Member Dentists. The BACD philosophy is to achieve a beautiful smile using the most tooth-friendly techniques; today this often involves some type of orthodontics, especially in complex cases.
Removable appliances
Removable braces such as clear aligners and removable appliances mean that patients have the ability to remove the braces in social situations if they want. All the removable braces need to be worn for at least 20 hours a day to ensure they achieve the desired tooth movement.
Fixed appliances
Fixed aesthetic braces involving the use of discreet, clear brackets on the outside of teeth and tooth coloured wires are preferred by some. The brackets are permanently fixed to the teeth and work throughout the day to align the teeth and fix your smile.
Other systems use metal brackets bonded to the inside of the teeth giving the same types of tooth movement created by traditional metal braces.
Treatment length: 4 weeks to 3 years
