Andrew Dawood runs the Dawood and Tanner Specialist Dental Practice together with partner Susan Tanner, in London’s West End. Andrew is mostly involved with Implant Dentistry and has a particular interest in 3D technologies including CBCT, 3D printing, intraoral scanning, and CAD CAM, harnessing technology to make treatments less invasive, faster, and more predictable.
Andrew is the clinical director of www.cavendishimaging.com, an imaging and medical modelling facility. CBCT scanning, and 3D photography along with 3D printing and virtual surgical planning are used to facilitate all types of implant placements as well as complex craniomaxillofacial surgical procedures. This service is widely used by dentists placing implants, surgical colleagues, and National Health Hospital Trusts.
He is also the founder of www.digits2widgets.com , a 3D printing studio working with engineers, architects, designers and artists.
Andrew qualified from The Royal London Hospital. He devotes his time to dental implant surgery, research and development in the implant world and in 3D imaging and manufacturing. He has honorary attachments to University College Hospital, St Bartholomew’s and the Royal London Hospitals, Chelsea and Westminster, and Moorfields Eye Hospital, working in the implant rehabilitation of patients who have undergone extensive resection or trauma. Andrew is uniquely placed to engage with the 3D technologies that are currently transforming the dental landscape and lectures regularly on technology and surgical and prosthodontic aspects of implant dentistry in the UK and internationally, and is published in the scientific literature.
Andrew has a number of significant innovations to his name, including the development of an award winning computerised implant drill controller, and various implant designs.
