Full Member

To become a Full Member of the BACD, you must demonstrate relevant continuing education in the field of cosmetic/aesthetic dentistry

For dentists and technicians, a full membership form is included in the pack sent to you when you join (or download example forms under Helpful Links to the right of this page)

Full membership for dentists

Full membership of the BACD for dentists requires 75 hours of suitable, relevant CPD.  Please note the following provisos:

You must be at least three (3) years qualified to apply for full membership
Reading magazine articles is not accepted
On-line courses approved by the BACD are acceptable to a maximum of 10 hours
Lectures attended as part of a compulsory course e.g. vocational training, are not accepted
Your submission can include a maximum of 12 hours of surgical implant courses
Your submission must include a minimum of 7 hours and a maximum of 12 hours of occlusion courses
Your submission can include a maximum of 6 hours of botox/filler courses
Your submission must include 12 hours attendance at BACD meetings.  BACD verifiable CPD is from conferences/regional meetings/lectures organised by the BACD and not simply sponsored by the BACD

Maintenance of full membership for dentists

Maintenance of full membership will require 50 hours of relevant verifiable CPD to be submitted every 2 years.  This must include 12 hours attendance at BACD meetings

Full membership for technicians

Full membership of the BACD for technicians requires 50 hours of suitable, relevant CPD.  Please note the following provisos:

Reading magazine articles is not accepted
On-line courses approved by the BACD are acceptable to a maximum of 10 hours
Your submission can include a maximum of 5 hours of surgical implant courses
Your submission can included a maximum of 5 hours of occlusion courses
Your submission must include 6 hours attendance at BACD meetings. BACD verifiable CPD is from conferences/regional meetings/lectures organised by the BACD and not simply sponsored by the BACD

Maintenance of full membership for technicians

Maintenance of full membership will require 30 hours of relevant verifiable CPD to be submitted every 2 years.  This must include 12 hours attendance at BACD meetings
