regional – managing the worn dentition the MI way

Managing the worn dentition the MI way

From Simple Composite to Exquisite Porcelain

Traditionally full mouth rehabilitation has involved invasive treatment protocols often utilising full coverage crowns. This can be destructive of tooth substance, expensive for the patient and when it fails it can fail with disastrous consequences. These days both dentists and patients alike are looking to conserve tooth structure and provide cost effective solutions whilst at the same time maximising aesthetics and allowing treatment to be scheduled over time.

You will learn:

  • what is Minimally Invasive (MI) dentistry?
  • why repairability may be more important than longevity
  • MI dentistry and the Concept of Complete Dentistry
  • when MI dentistry is appropriate and when it is not
  • classification and aetiology of tooth wear
  • diagnosis and treatment planning
  • the Dahl principle – where, when and how
  • the diagnostic wax up for MI dentistry
  • material selection
  • preparation design
  • different techniques for different situations
  • risk management
  • the keys to long term success
