This event will run from 09.00 – 17.00
“The process has been designed to allow dentist and technicians to demonstrate that they have the ability to diagnose, plan and execute cosmetic treatment of the highest standard, and that this can be done safely, ethically and competently.”
BACD Accreditation is a journey that helps dentists improve their skills in diagnosis, planning and execution of aesthetic dentistry to the benefit of their patients.
To that end we are running an Advanced Accreditation study day to help those who have already shown an interest in accreditation to gain full accreditation.
The meeting will be hosted by Donald Sloss, BACD President, RIchard Lee, Accredited member dentist, our two Fellows of the Academy Ken Harris and Oliver Harman (Chair of the Credentialing Committee), and Accredited technician Luke Barnett. The day will focus on the case types necessary for Accreditation.
The plan for the day is to explore not only what is required for each case type but to advise on how to actually achieve this. For example how do we create ideal ovate pontic sites for the case type 3, or how do we deal with uneven gingival margins in the smile design case, or how do we hide the margins of a class 4 composite?
By limiting the numbers to those who have already shown interest in the process we can be sure of a very interactive day with a lot of the learning coming from the delegates as well as the presenters.
There is also the opportunity to look at cases of delegates. These can be potential cases to give advice on the suitability for accreditation or current cases to give tips and encouragement.
The more you are prepared to participate in the day the more you will get out of it.
