Digital intra-oral impressions and workflow

Digital intra-oral impressions and workflow

As digital technological development continues to gain momentum in dentistry, a fundamental consideration should be: Does the digital process of intra-oral digital impressions and subsequent digital workflow enhance treatment outcomes when compared to traditional analogue processes. This consideration, relative to patient comfort, time efficiency, accuracy of digital versus analogue impressions and the resultant accuracy of fit of restorations, together with an explanation of the digital process will be discussed. In addition, limitations and applications of intra-oral digital impressions will be highlighted relative to prosthodontics, orthodontics and implantology.

Learning objectives:
Following the presentation, delegates will have an understanding of and be able to discuss the digital intra-oral impression taking process together with its advantages, limitations and application in prosthodontics, orthodontics and implantology. Delegates will thus be empowered to make scientifically based decisions regarding the use of this available digital technology and its correct clinical applications.

The EICC

The EICC, The Exchange, Edinburgh EH3 8EE

Situated at the heart of Scotland's elegant and historic capital city, the EICC is one of the world's outstanding venues for conferences, conventions and exhibitions.

When it comes to inspirational cities, few can rival Edinburgh. The blend of UNESCO World Heritage architecture and world-class entertainment make Edinburgh a breath-taking city to visit. You may experience difficulties pulling yourself away from the city - but it is worth remembering that transport links make it easy to explore the rest of Scotland too.
